The West Barrhaven Community Association (WBCA) is a group of volunteer residents with the common goal of improving life in our community. If you would like to become actively involved in growth planning, community events, or helping out with our community improvement projects, please come to one of our monthly meetings. Meetings and special events will be posted on our Facebook site.
We represent the interests of “Old” Barrhaven as well as newly developed areas in the Western core of Barrhaven up to Highway 416.
The WBCA represents what would typically be known as “old Barrhaven” and the new communities developing in the western side of Barrhaven. Our boundaries run from Fallowfield to the Jock River, from Greenbank on the East to the 416 on the West. We also include the Holitman/Knollsbrook area.
The WBCA manages two community buildings (field houses) on behalf of the City of Ottawa. Both buildings are available for private rentals – a great alternative to having 30 kids running around your home creating mayhem and madness! The WBCA follows the rates established by the City of Ottawa; rental rates vary depending on number of people attending and type of function.
Larkin House is located at 76 Larkin Drive and is used frequently for WBCA Special Events and Activities. There are two halls, kitchen facilities, and washrooms. Capacity is 75 people. There are ten 6′ folding tables and chairs for approximately 60 people available for use.
The Charlie Conacher Community Building is located at 30 Wessex Drive is a smaller facility, suitable for smaller meetings. It has one meeting room, a kitchen and washrooms. Capacity is 20 people.
